Senior IT Engineering Manager (Europe)
Job Description
As the senior European technical manager, you will be accountable for all aspects of European operations and manage a team of operations/network engineers and administrators.
He/she shall instill a culture of customer-orientation into the firms operations and will be responsible for minimizing service downtime and bringing transparency into fault management. This is a very hands-on IT management position, which requires strong project management and communication abilities and a depth of experience that ranges from low-level scripting and hardware deployment to building a NOC and leadership of technical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial management of inventory (sourcing, procurement, disposition, write-offs, etc.) and other resources
- Building of monitoring tools and infrastructure
- Definition and implementation of inventory, change, and fault management processes
- Deployment of measurement tools to assess service/channel availability
- Manage a team of operations/network engineers and administrators
- Managing the firms internal and production systems and network infrastructure
- Overseeing service and support team for 24/7 on call NOC rotation
- Developing tools and monitoring systems for operational support (testing, capacity planning, etc.)
- Specifying, deploying, and maintaining hardware, telecommunications, operating systems, and databases
- Working with development to spec a standard hardware platform for an appliance deployment model (with support for configuration and package management, upgrades, etc.)
- Coordinate planning and resources for moves, adds, changes (MACs)
- Oversee facilities setup: leases, building modifications, power and HVAC, phone systems, installation and programming, voice and network circuits

- Many years of practical experience in the management and operations of large-scale distributed systems
- Exceptional organization and resource management skills
